Vietnamese archeological treasure exhibition opens in capital

HANOI, April 12 (Xinhua) -- An exhibition named "Treasures of Vietnam's Archeology" kicked off here on Thursday, displaying 320 artifacts, including several unique ones.

The archeological artifacts are being exhibited at the Vietnam National History Museum from April 12 to the end of July, providing visitors with a glimpse of Vietnam's prehistoric and metal ages and feudal times.

The artifacts include bronze drums, bracelets, axes and arrows, brick dragon and phoenix heads, and gold leaves and a gold lingam.

At present, the gold lingam (or linga in Hindi), which is an aniconic representation of Hindu deity Shiva, is unique in Vietnam, said local archeologists.?
