TOKYO, June 13 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks made moderate gains Wednesday morning as a weaker yen lifted exporter issues, although many investors refrained from taking up bold positions ahead of the result of the U.S. Federal Reserve's policy meeting.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average added 56.23 points, or 0.25 percent, from Tuesday to 22,934.58.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, gained 5.79 points, or 0.32 percent, to 1,798.61.

Marine transportation, real estate, and other financial issues comprised those that gained the most by the morning break.
