RABAT, April 15 (Xinhua) -- The Moroccan King Mohammed VI sent Monday a message of support to French President Emmanuel Macron, following a fire that broke out in the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris.

The king expressed to the French president, on behalf of himself and the Moroccan people, his full support and solidarity.

He also expressed the same to all French people, as the cathedral is a historical symbol.

He noted that "this disaster affects not only one of the most emblematic historical monuments of the city of Paris, but also a site of prayers for millions of worshipers around the world."
