BERLIN, Sept. 2 (Xinhua) -- Timothy Cheruiyot won the men's 1,500 meters in 3 minutes 32.37 seconds at the 77th edition of the International Stadium Festival (ISTAF) in Berlin's Olympic Stadium on Sunday.

The World's No. 1 extended his winning run as he reaped the ISTAF title three days after wrapping the Diamond League in Zurich.

"I have won every race this year but the ISTAF was the crowning of a perfect season. I give my best every time but I am especially happy today, because I am in Berlin and I love Berlin," Cheruiyot said.

Fellow Kenyan Ferguson Cheruiyot Rotich needed a personal best of 3:33.21 to complete the race on the second place.

Belgium's Ismael Debjani clocked a season best of 3:34.40 to secure the third place.

The ISTAF in Berlin's Olympic Stadium is the biggest athletics meeting in the world and attracts annually 50.000 spectators as approximately 180 athletes from 40 countries and regions compete in 15 disciplines.
