AMMAN, Sept. 10 (Xinhua) -- Jordan and Germany on Monday signed three agreements worth 115 million euros (133.4 million U.S. dollars) to support Jordan's development in education and water resources.

About 20 million euros will be granted by the German government, with the rest offered as a soft loan, according to a statement by Jordan's Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation.

"The aid is part of assistance pledged by Germany" to Jordan in 2018, the statement quoted the ministry chief Mary Kawar as as saying.

Kawar expressed deep appreciation for Germany's years of "instrumental" support for Jordan's "reform, development and modernization process."

In 2017, Germany pledged to provide 600 million euros to Jordan to reduce the impact of its hosting mass Syrian refugees.

Jordan is currently home to 1.3 million Syrian refugees.
