LONDON, Sept. 19 (Xinhua) -- British stocks rose on Wednesday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index up by 0.42 percent, or 30.89 points, to close at 7,331.12 points.
Antofagasta, a copper mining group, soared 5.87 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. Anglo American and Prudential increased by 5.05 percent and 3.70 percent respectively.
Kingfisher, an international home improvement company, was the worst performer in the blue chips, with its shares losing 6.30 percent.
