Iraqi FM visits Lebanon to strengthen bilateral ties

BEIRUT, Oct. 16 (Xinhua) -- Lebanese President Michel Aoun said on Tuesday that Lebanon is looking forward to boosting its ties with Iraq on all levels, Lebanon's presidency website reported.

Aoun's remarks came during his meeting with Iraqi Foreign Minister, Ibrahim Al-Jaafari, at Baabda Palace in Beirut who was on a three-day official visit to discuss ways of strengthening relations between the two countries.

Jaafari said he hopes to boost his country's relation with Lebanon which will serve as an example for other countries to follow.

"We want to improve our relations with Lebanon in a way that would serve the interests of both countries," he said.

Jaafari will also visit Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri and Prime Minister-designate Saad Hariri.?
