HOUSTON, Oct. 17 (Xinhua) -- The 4th annual InvestH2O Forum was launched on Wednesday in Houston, the fourth largest city in the United States.

Water technology investors, energy experts and government officials gathered for the two-day forum, hoping to cope with challenges from drought, storms, lack of critical infrastructure, and demand for uninterruptible supply.

Focusing on "Investing in Resiliency: Families, Communities, Industries," the forum is aimed to explore potential opportunities in water technology marketplace and to advance risk mitigation strategies.

The forum was presented by Accelerate H2O in response to the ongoing threat of storms and floods in one part of the state of Texas, drought and depleting sources of water in other parts of the state.

Through this forum, the organizer also hoped to convert lessons learned and after-action reports into innovations, investments and project opportunities across public and private sectors.

Accelerate H2O is a statewide water technology nonprofit organization founded in 2010. It focuses on overcoming limitations to innovating water and the deployment of technology to address critical challenges for citizens, consumers, businesses, and communities.
