BOGOTA, Jan. 24 (Xinhua) -- Colombia and Japan will fine-tune their preparations for this year's Copa America in Brazil with an international friendly in Yokohama in March, the South American country's football federation said on Thursday.

The match will be played at Nissan stadium on March 22 at a time that has yet to be confirmed, the Colombian Football Federation (FCF) said in a statement.

"This will be a good challenge for our team [ahead of] the Copa America considering that Japan are one of the invited teams, along with Qatar," the statement read.

Colombia are still searching for a new head coach following the resignation of Argentine Jose Pekerman in September.

Earlier this month FCF vice president Alvaro Gonzalez said the organization was in advanced talks with Portuguese manager Carlos Queiroz, who is currently in the United Arab Emirates for the Asian Cup, where he is in charge of Iran's national team.

The Copa America will be played in five Brazilian cities from June 15 to July 7.

Colombia are due to begin their campaign with a clash against Argentina on June 15 and will also face Qatar and Paraguay in the group stage.
