Chinese divers triumph in FINA Diving Grand Prix in Rostock

BERLIN, Feb. 16 (Xinhua) -- Wei Ying led a Chinese one-two in the women's 3-meter springboard final at the International Swimming Federation Diving Grand Prix in Rostock, Germany.

Wei produced a strong series of dives at the Neptun-Schwimmhalle to finish on top of the podium. She finished with a total of 317.20 points and enjoyed a comfortable cushion over team-mate Huang Xiaohui.

Huang had the silver in 309.75 points, with Russia's Uliana Kliueva rounding off the podium places with a score of 300.30.

There was also Chinese success in the men's 10m synchronised platform competition.

Zhang Peng and Zhang Wenao dominated the event as the pair ended with a tally of 385.14 points.

Germany's Tom Waldsteiner and Karl Schone were their closest challengers, finishing second on 350.10 points.

The bronze medal was claimed by Romania's Constantin Popovici and Catalin Cozma, who scored 337.20 points.

The hosts celebrated victory in the mixed 10m platform competition.

Christina Wassen and Florian Fandler combined well to score 306.54 points to win the three-team competition.

Russia's Ekaterina Beliaeva and Victor Minibaev were second on 294.60 points.

Romania's Antonia Pavel and Aurelian Dragomir finished third in 240.24 points.
