RIO DE JANEIRO, Feb. 23 (Xinhua) -- Canadian wild card entrant Felix Auger-Aliassime reached the semifinals of the Rio Open by defeating Spain's Jaume Munar 6-4, 6-3 on Friday.

The 18-year-old hit 32 winners, compared to Munar's seven, to wrap up the match in one hour and 38 minutes on the outdoor clay of the Jockey Club Brasileiro.

Auger-Aliassime will meet Argentina's Pablo Cuevas in the semifinals on Saturday after Cuevas defeated Albert Ramos-Vinolas of Spain 6-3, 3-6, 6-3 in their quarterfinal.

The clash will be Montreal-born Auger-Aliassime's first semifinal appearance in an ATP tournament.

"This is what I work for every day. It's what I get up for every morning," said Auger-Aliassime, who is currently 104th in the ATP world rankings.

"As soon as I walked on court, I felt the energy from the crowd and felt like I couldn't get tired. The tournament isn't over yet, but this feels great."

Earlier Friday, Aljaz Bedene overcame Hugo Dellien 4-6, 6-2, 6-3 and Laslo Djere beat Casper Ruud 6-4, 7-5 to set up berths in Saturday's other semifinal.
