KAMPALA, March 22 (Xinhua) -- Uganda's coach Tolbert Onyango on Friday named the men's squad for the World Rugby HSBC Sevens Series from April 5-7 in Hong Kong, China.

"After serious training for over a month, we have picked the best players who I am sure will die a little for the country in the Hong Kong Sevens," Onyango told Xinhua.

The men's team captain Michael Wokorach told Xinhua that they are determined to put up a good show.

"Some experienced players are missing on the team, but we are determined to go and showcase good rugby," said Wokorach.

Uganda qualified last year after finishing second in each (men and women) of the categories. Uganda missed out on qualifying for the Cape Town and Dubai Sevens tournaments.

The women's team have been pooled in Group B alongside Papua New Guinea, Hong Kong of China and arch-rivals Kenya. The men's team will battle in Group G together with Chile, Germany and Cook Islands.

The men's team includes Pius Ogena, Desire Ayera, Michael Wokorach (captain), Isaac Massa, Ian Munyani, Byron Oketayot, Paul Masendi, Aron Ofoirwoth, Adrian Kasito, Philip Wokorach, Timothy Kisiga and Joseph Aredo.

The women's squad was announced much earlier.
