SHANGHAI, April 13 (Xinhua) -- The 2019 Spring Disney Inspiration Run got off to a flying start at Shanghai Disney Resort on Saturday with more than 7,500 participants crossing the finish line.
For both 3.5km and 5km races, all participants who completed the courses were presented with a Disney Character-themed medal.
After the events got underway, runners set off on a journey full of Disney entertainment and natural beauty as they ran through Shanghai Disneyland and Disneytown.
The men's and women's winners of the 5km run were Zhu Baojun from Hangzhou and Bella Jiang from Shanghai respectively.
The Disney Inspiration Run, originated in the United States, has been held regularly worldwide in recent years. Since its introduction to Shanghai last year, nearly 20,000 people have participated in it.
The first-ever Disney Inspiration Kids Run at Wishing Star Park also welcomed more than 600 kids aged at 2-5, with their parents cheering them on.
The 10km race of the 2019 Spring Disney Inspiration Run will be held on April 14.
