Clash leaves 4 security personnel, 10 militants dead in northern Afghanistan

KUNDUZ, Afghanistan, July 9 (Xinhua) -- At least four security personnel and 10 militants were killed during the clash between Taliban and government forces in Afghanitan's northern Kunduz province on Monday night, a local official said on Tuesday.

"A group of Taliban militants attacked the center of Imam Sahib district on Monday night, which met resistance of government forces," Mahboubullah Sayedi, the district governor of Imam Sahib, told Xinhua.

During the clash between the two sides, four security personnel and 10 militants were killed and seven security personnel were injured, Sayedi added.

Taliban militants have yet to make comments.
